Why Music?

Music has many rewards both inside and outside of the classroom. It has been proven that the study of music helps increase test scores of students in other areas. Music offers students the chance to learn something new with their friends and gives them a chance to grow together, as well as see various areas of music through the attendance of fieldtrips and competitions. Participating in band also helps develop skills that students will use throughout life such as; organization, teamwork, time management and responsibility.

Students at Zora Ellis have a few options when it comes to band.
  • Any incoming 7th grade student may choose to join the band by contacting Ms. Todd at 315-5706 or by email at etodd@mail.talladega-cs.net. No experience is necessary. The time to sign up is NOW! Instrumentation is being set as we speak.
  • Any 8th grade student who is not already a member of the ZEJH band has a very unique chance this year to join the 8th grade beginning band. Students who miss out in 7th grade miss a year of instruction and sometimes find it difficult to catch up. This year we are offering an 8th grade beginning band for those students that would like to join. THIS IS A ONE TIME OFFERING. (We will not have this particular class every year.) To join contact Ms. Todd.

In the meantime check out our blogspot at www.zejhband.blogspot.com to view some events and happenings in the ZEJH Band. Don't forget to visit the archives and old posts on this page. Also feel free to visit the high school band website at www.degaband.com, the official website of the award winning Talladega High School Band.
