Visit from Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Ragland's civic students, while completing a unit of the juvenile justice system, were visited by Probation Officer, Mrs. Brown. Students participated in a question/answer session, and Mrs. Brown clarified procedures involving juveniles and rehabilitation. Thank you, Mrs. Ragland, for making the necessary arrangements for this informative learning opportunity!

Christmas Holidays-- December 24-January 2

Semester Finals

Students with a "C" or better average are exempt from semester tests. Attendance will not be held against exempt students starting December 19th.

 For students who are not exempt, semester final exams will be:
  • Wednesday, December 19th-- 1st 3rd, and 5th period tests
  • Thursday, December 20th-- 2nd, 4th, and 6th period tests
  • Friday, December 21st--Make-ups during 1st and 2nd period (for any final tests missed) 
Students may be checked out by parents when finals are completed. Arrangements should be made at home ahead of time, since students will not be allowed to call to be checked out.
***School will dismiss at 1:00 on December 21st for the Christmas holidays.

Nursing Home Visit

Students from the Career Tech department helped distribute fruit to residents at the Talladega Nursing Home. This Christmas community service project was heart-warming for both students and residents. Thank you, Mr. Lipscomb, for organizing this event.

BETA Walk-a-Thon

BETA students will be participating in a walk-a-thon with proceeds going to the American Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. Sponsors are needed! If you would like to sponsor a student by donating $5.00/mile, please contact  Ms. Webb. (swebb@talladega-cs.net)  

This event will take place December 8th from 9:00a.m.-11:00 a.m. at Mary Dumas Stadium. Hot dogs, drinks, and hot chocolate will be sold. Please help support these students in this worthwhile community service project!

Christmas Concert

The Ellis and THS bands would like to invite you to enjoy their Christmas concert at Harwell Auditorium December 11th beginning at 7:00 p.m. The cost of admission is $3.00 for ages 6 and older; $1.00 for ages 5 and younger. A silent auction will begin  at 6:00 prior to the concert. Anyone interested in making a donation to the silent auction may contact Mr. Martindale at Ellis.
