Special Olympics

Ms. Morris, Ms. Truss, and their students all enjoyed the Special Olympics hosted on the ASD campus this week. Students competitively participated in running, jumping, and throwing activities. Brittany H. and Connor G. were also present to lend a helping hand. We are so proud of how these students represented Ellis with their positive attitudes. Congratulations!

           

New Lighting

We are SO excited about the new lighting addition to our downstairs hallway. It makes a wonderful, huge difference! Plans are to have these lights put in our upstairs hallway in October. Thank you Harold, Wayne B., and Wayne M. from our maintenance department. 

Action Verbs

Students in Mrs. Johnson's English class jumped, clapped and shook while studying action verbs. What a fun way to learn the parts of speech! 

PTO Activities

The PTO would like to involve more parents in PTO activities.  Please contact the school @ 256-315-5700 or Dr. Trescott @ (256) 362-5118 (etrescott5118@charter.net) to inform us of the days and times you can help.

Candy Sale

Our PTO candy sale will begin September 26th. Students will be allowed to bring home candy to sell once they have returned the parent-signed permission form that was sent home today. Boxes will contain 40 or 52 items and each item will cost $1.00. Unsold partial boxes cannot be returned. Help our school by helping our PTO!

Afternoon Parking

Parents,
In the afternoons, please do not park on Elm Street (in front of the school) until after the buses have left. Parked cars will be ticketed by the Talladega City Police Department. We appreciate your cooperation.

Terrific Tuesday

"Positive Parenting Skills" will be the topic at the Terrific Tuesday session, September 20th at 11:00 at Ellis. Make plans to attend to learn tips on how to be an effective parent of teen-aged children.

Progress Reports

School Shirt Sale

School shirts will be on sale starting September 7th and extending until September 14th. The cost is $10.00. These shirts may be worn on Fridays and other designated days. Students will bring home order forms today. Students should receive their shirt before our next home game, September 20th.
