Congratulations to the Ellis Emeralds! They recently traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, where they attended the Southeastern Color Guard Circuit Championships. While there, they represented our school with pride and enthusiasm as they performed for a very large crowd. Their outstanding performance paid off as they were named 2011 Alabama State Champions for the Cadet Classification and 2011 SCGC Silver Medalists.
We are very proud of these young ladies! They are pictured above with their sister groups, the Dega Darlins of Talladega High School and the Dega Darlins Addition of Talladega High School (JV). The Dega Darlins received the Bronze Medal in Scholastic AA Classification, and the Dega Addition were named 2011 Alabama State Champions in the Novice Classification as well as received the Silver Medal.
Congratulations! A state championship for the winter guard on the heels of the band receiving its first-ever "Superior" in concert competition. Should definitely be a point of pride for the school system!
